One of my favourite SoB photos so far.

This is the result of my 9-month-long work. It was the hardest costume I've ever constructed since I had to experiment with lots of techniques I hadn't used before. Also, this was my first cosplay where I didn't have to look pretty - and I enjoyed it a lot! :D

All the parts were made by me and my uncle helped me with tools for the weapons. I used the simplest materials - so no wonderflex or glass fibre and resin. This way it is extremely light and it is easier to move around in it.

The bolter actually works. If you pull the trigger you can see a kind of 'muzzle fire' - a led which vibrates and flashes red. The bolter also gives out a shooting sound. I've got another weapon, a working chainsword - but I don't have it with me in this photo - so this is a good excuse to upload more pictures of my Adepta Sororitas.

This costume was worn at Cosplayer Expo, 18th August 2012 in Budapest (H) and I took part in the 2nd Eurocosplay qualifier.

Stunning work. I gave con hopped for years with friends from SCA to 501st. I am most impressed with the detail work on this piece. Please share some technical info on construction. And any chance you can post as pic of the back of the vest? Curious if a corset back string tie or did you go with side openings or a zipper?

Unfortunately, the powerpack almost fully covers my back, but I will have a photoshoot in the near future, so we will take some pictures of my back.

The vest is basically a hand-sewn leather corset (my hardest corset to build so far) with steeal boning. So, it has eyelets on the back with strings. :)
